SESSION ABSTRACT: Understanding ADHD & Autism - Myths, Beliefs & Truths

Kayla Oughton is both autistic and ADHD (AuDHD), diagnosed as an adult after a lifetime of wondering why things felt harder. Now a Certified ADHD-Informed Coach and founder of Dopamine & Co, she helps a global community of 115,000+ understand their brains and build lives that fit.

In this warm, myth-busting session, you’ll learn:

  1. What ADHD and autism really are (and what they’re not)
  2. Why “naughty”, “lazy” or “rude” behaviour is often an overwhelmed brain
  3. Simple, practical ways to connect with and support the kids and grandkids (and possibly yourselves) in your life

Come curious. Leave with tools you can use straight away.

Dates: Wednesday 18th November, 2026

Time & format: The workshop will start at 10am, a tea/coffee break at 11, followed by a lively facilitated discussion to answer all your curious questions. The workshop will finish at 12pm.

Location: Keirunga Creative Arts Venue, 6 Puflett Road, Havelock North 4130

Parking: There is plenty of free parking outside the venue.
