Join Love Heart for a lively Learning Lunch with Guy Lowry, one of Hawke's Bay’s most respected thoroughbred racehorse trainers. Operating out of Game Lodge Stables in Hastings, Guy has spent a lifetime honing the art and science of training elite equine athletes.


With a deep family pedigree in New Zealand racing, Guy’s career was shaped by working alongside some of Australasia’s finest trainers, including a formative three-year stint as foreman for the legendary Bart Cummings in Melbourne. Over the years, Guy has trained numerous Group winners, consistently producing peak performance on the track through a blend of traditional horsemanship and modern training methods.


Now based in Hawke's Bay, Guy brings a wealth of local knowledge paired with elite-level sporting expertise. His work spans breeding, conditioning, biomechanics, and the intense psychological preparation required to succeed in the high-stakes world of thoroughbred racing.
