Join Love Heart for a lively Learning Lunch with Greg Rust, one of Australia and New Zealand’s most recognised motorsport broadcasters. “Rusty’s” career has taken him from radio newsrooms to pit lanes, television studios to iconic sporting events all over the world.

For almost 30 years he’s covered Formula One, MotoGP, Supercars, World Rally and stepped outside his comfort zone successfully commentating things like the Red Bull Air Race, and hosting the Winter Olympics, Commonwealth Games, World Road Cycling Championships and more.

Now based in Hawke’s Bay, Rusty brings a wonderful local connection to a truly international media career with a diverse range of skills for presenting, sports commentary, voiceover and MC duties as well as a decade long passion for podcasting.

This lunch is not only for motorsport fans. At heart Greg is a conversationalist so this is for anyone who enjoys a good story and a look behind the scenes at what really happens when pressure is high, the cameras are rolling, the contest is unfolding and there’s no second takes or chances.

Greg will share what he has learned from interviewing elite riders, drivers, designers, collectors and champions through his award winning Rusty’s Garage podcast, where curiosity about the machine and the human side of sport collide in gripping, rapport fueled conversations.

Expect warmth, humour and pace as Greg reflects on the people behind the machines and the cameras, the art of engaging questions, the changing world of media, and why staying curious keeps life interesting at every age. It will be a relaxed, intimate and thought provoking afternoon of stories from a life lived around things that go fast and the extraordinary people who go in search of speed.

Tickets are limited.
