We invite you to a very special Learning Lunch at the award-winning Cellar 495. This is not your average lunch—it is a relaxed, joyous, and inclusive afternoon designed to bring people together over fantastic food and exceptional wine.
Our host for the afternoon is Cellar 495’s founder, Mike Henley. As the 495th person in the world to achieve the prestigious Master of Wine designation, Mike brings a wealth of global knowledge right to our table in Hawke’s Bay. But do not let the title intimidate you; Mike is a natural storyteller with a warm, approachable manner. He is passionate about making wine accessible and fun for everyone, ensuring you will walk away having learned something completely new.
What to Expect:
- Expert Insight: Drawing on a career that spans four continents, Christie's Auction House, and the pinnacle of wine scholarship, Mike Henley MW unpacks the world of wine through the lens of geography, culture, and climate — revealing how every bottle is shaped by the land, the people, and the era that produced it.
- Culinary Pairings: Delight in seasonal, bistro-style shared plates crafted by Head Chef Carlita Campbell.
- Meaningful Connection: With only 25 seats, this intimate setting is perfect for mingling and connecting with fellow guests.
Date: Tuesday May 12th 11:30-2pm
