Join us for an exclusive Learning Adventure to the historic Norsewear factory. Departing Napier and Hastings, we travel to the heart of New Zealand’s wool heritage. The day begins at the local fire station with an inspiring briefing from Tim Deane, Norsewear’s CEO. Tim will share his ambitious vision to turn around this 60-year-old heritage brand, adding massive value to local wool growers and keeping revenue within New Zealand.

We will then enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the Norsewear factory, witnessing the fascinating process of crafting their iconic apparel.

To complete the experience, we will gather at Cafe Norsewood for a delicious buffet lunch of homemade savouries and sweet treats, offering a perfect opportunity to mingle and discuss the day's insights.

Location: Our bus leaves from the National Aquarium of New Zealand Marine Parade, Napier South, Napier first, then onto our Hastings pick up at the Hastings Cenotaph, Lyndon Road W, Hastings before heading down to the Norswear factory in Norswood.

Tim Deane

Tim Deane is a passionate advocate for New Zealand’s agricultural sector and local manufacturing. With a background in AgScience from Lincoln University, Tim spent over three decades in high-level corporate roles, including serving as Managing Director of Fonterra Brands NZ and Goodman Fielder NZ. However, his lifelong passion for the wool industry ultimately led him to Norsewood.

In 2023, Tim purchased the iconic Norsewear brand, fulfilling a dream to work directly with New Zealand wool. He now dedicates his expertise to revitalising this 60-year-old heritage company. Tim has a massive ambition to turn Norsewear into a poster child for New Zealand brands, aiming to multiply the value of local wool by 18 times by keeping manufacturing onshore. His journey from the corporate boardroom to the factory floor is a testament to his belief in the value of New Zealand's rural communities.
