Title: Look, Frame, Capture: A Hands-On Smartphone Photography Workshop

Abstract:

What if the difference between an ordinary photo and a memorable one was simply learning how to look?

Most of us carry a camera with us every day, but taking a beautiful photograph is about far more than simply pointing and clicking.

In this practical, hands-on workshop, participants will explore how composition, light, perspective, framing and storytelling can transform everyday smartphone photography. After a short introduction to some simple techniques, we’ll head out into the beautiful surrounds of Eden Garden to put them into practice.

You’ll have time to experiment, notice details you might normally overlook and try different ways of capturing the garden, before returning for tea, coffee and an informal group discussion. We’ll look at some of the images taken during the morning, share observations and explore what makes a photograph feel engaging or memorable.

No specialist equipment or photography experience is needed - just bring your smartphone, your curiosity and a willingness to look at the world a little differently.
